Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features Sedgwick’s announcement that it has partnered with on-demand healthcare concierge Accolade to launch a new “whole health” solution designed to address concerns surrounding not only the physical, but emotional and financial health of clients’ employees and their families, who may otherwise struggle to access the resources they need in cases like an injury, illness, or even birth/adoption of a child.
The program pairs employer health plan members with a dedicated health assistant, who works with Sedgwick’s claims and clinical staff to guide the employee through the entire process. Health assistants not only help an employee and their family receive high-quality care, but also prepare them for returning to work following an absence. Sedgwick noted that whole health approach can increase employee satisfaction and engagement, reduce claim durations, and lost workdays, and decrease claim costs.
