Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Washington Department of Labor & Industries’ (L&I) announcement of the release of two new free apps designed to help improve workplace safety that were developed with grant money awarded by L&I’s Safety and Health Investment Projects (SHIP) Program.
The WA-HSEQ app is a Good Observation, Near-Miss and Accident Reporting app that provides a simple way to document workplace safety incidents, allowing employers to take a photo of a safe practice, a near-miss or an accident, and then use a tool to mark up the photo. Quick-report features let you save the photo, add a few details and send to others in your organization. The second app, SafeMe, is geared toward protecting teens and younger workers, and offers safety lessons, videos and hazard identification for a variety of industries where younger workers find jobs, including retail and restaurants.
