Salt Lake City, UT – Commissioner Jaceson R. Maughan of the Utah Labor Commission recently announced the appointment of Cameron S. Ruppe as the new Director of the Utah Occupational Safety and Health Division (UOSH).
Mr. Ruppe received a Bachelor’s Degree Cum Laude in Emergency Services Administration with an Emphasis in Emergency Medical Care from Utah Valley University and the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Ruppe served as the UOSH Compliance Field Operations Manager. During his career, Mr. Ruppe also worked as a Safety Consultant for companies large and small in several different industries. Additionally, he has worked as an adjunct Safety Instructor for the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College, a Safety Analyst for Newfield Exploration, and a Safety Coordinator for Flint Energy Services.
“I have enjoyed the opportunity here at UOSH to work closely with employers and employees in the State of Utah. Having been a small business owner, I understand the concerns employers have, but also the benefits of doing business in a state like Utah.” Mr. Ruppe said. “I am encouraged by what we have been able to accomplish to this point and am positive that we can improve on our goal of helping employers to create a safe and healthy workplace for their employees.”
