Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the California DWC Audit and Enforcement Unit’s recent release of the performance standards for its profile audit reviews (PAR) and full compliance audits (FCA).
The DWC is required to conduct profile audit reviews for all adjusting locations of California workers’ comp claims at least once every five years. Performance of the adjusting locations is measured in five areas of claims administration, including payment of accrued and undisputed indemnity, late first payment of temporary disability / first notice of salary continuation, late first payment of permanent disability and death benefits, late subsequent indemnity payments, and the provision of notices with QME/AME advice. If an audit subject’s PAR performance rating is higher than the set threshold, the audit will expand to a FCA.
