SFM Touts Top Placement on MN DLI List for Prompt First Action on Claims

January 26, 2017 - WorkCompWire

Bloomington, MN – SFM recently announced that for the 18th consecutive year it has ranked first among large insurers in Minnesota for prompt first action on lost-time claims, according to a list from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (PDF).

SFM either accepted or denied 93.5 percent of lost-time claims within the 14-day period allowed by state law — the highest percentage of any insurer with more than 1,000 lost-time claims in Minnesota. SFM’s percentage is up from 92.4 percent the previous year.

SFM handled 1,643 lost-time claims in 2016, according to the report.

“We work hard to respond quickly after an injury is reported, because it’s what’s best for everyone involved — especially injured workers,” said SFM Vice President of Claims Meg Kasting. “This is just one way we ensure injured workers are well cared for and on the road to recovery.”
