Larkspur, CA – Systema Software, LLC recently announced that Hewitt Coleman has selected its flagship product SIMS Claims™ as it new claims administration system. Hewitt Coleman is a regional third-party administrator (TPA), managing workers’ compensation, short-term disability, liability, and property claims, as well as offering an array of employee benefit programs such as healthcare, accident and health, and life.
Patrick Engel, AIC, Senior Vice President of Property and Casualty at Hewitt Coleman, commented on his company’s need for a new claims system: “When I came onboard with Hewitt Coleman, I realized the existing system would limit future growth, the ability to expand our service offerings and remote employment opportunities. With SIMS’ browser-based platform, we can hire claims professionals in jurisdictions outside of our regional area and expand the footprint of potential new clients dramatically. We learned SIMS Claims had been rated as the top claims system by Advisen’s RMIS Review for four years running. Through the RFP process, we found SIMS exceeded our requirements for a claims solution; there was a huge potential in what we could achieve with this innovative platform.”
“It’s a tremendous opportunity to be able to work with a leading TPA like Hewitt Coleman,” said Jose Tribuzio, President and CEO of Systema Software. “The company has been around since 1923 and has a stellar reputation for providing outstanding customer service. With SIMS, they now add a modern architecture and cutting-edge claims capabilities to the value and benefits they can deliver to their customers.”
Brian Mack, VP of Sales & Marketing at Systema Software, added, “The flexibility of SIMS is in sync with Hewitt Coleman’s heritage of providing custom solutions to clients. With the close partnership we’ve established, we feel confident we’ll be able to deploy SIMS within an aggressive timeframe, so their claims staff and customers reap the benefits of automation and increased efficiency as soon as possible.”
“We were impressed that Systema Software had been in business for 10 years and never lost a client,” added Engel. “The team is passionate about providing the best claims software on the market. While other vendors take a standard ‘cookie cutter’ approach, Systema continues to innovate and update SIMS every year. For example, it optimized its user interface (UI) to boost performance across browser environments, to create a more streamlined user experience, and to offer more configuration capabilities. Now, we’ll be able to add and change fields, as well as customize screens to meet our unique claims-handling requirements and the varied needs of our self-insured clients.”
Hewitt Coleman manages a significant book of business in workers’ compensation (WC), and so it will leverage Systema’s WC compliance solutions, which include up-to-date jurisdictional forms and disability rates; Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act (MMSEA) section 111 reporting; and state-mandated Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) reporting.
