Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features some interesting innovation from the transportation field with One Call’s announcement of its partnership with ridesharing service Lyft aimed at providing transportation for non-emergency patients.
One Call and Lyft have integrated their transportation platforms, creating an active ride management tool that allows users to monitor and confirm transportation in real-time. During an initial pilot, One Call found that it was able to improve rush request fulfillment by 64%, allowing those rush case patients to reach their appointments on time, eliminating costly fees typically associated with these trips and lowering the cost of care. One Call also noted that the integrated Lyft platform also provides benefits like real-time data, immediate patient feedback, notice of driver delays, elimination of drivers’ wait time during appointments, and a smartphone app.
