Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features a couple of pieces of dividend news, starting with Texas Mutual’s announcement that it has approved a company-record $240 million dividend distribution in 2016, which will begin being distributed in July. Texas Mutual noted that this is the 18th consecutive year distributing policyholder dividends, bringing the total to over $2 billion – over $1 billion of which has been paid since 2012. Also in the news today is the Ohio BWC’s recent announcement that as a result of strong investment returns, it will be distributing a one-time $15 million rebate to Ohio’s 88 county governments. The rebate is from the Public Work-Relief Employees’ Fund (PWRE), which provides workers’ comp coverage for counties’ work-relief employees, who must work for a government entity in exchange for public assistance payments.
