Bloomington, MN – SFM has chosen Amanda Aponte, FCAS, MAAA, to lead the company’s new Analytics Department.
The department brings together SFM’s actuarial and business intelligence functions into one group. The team is working on internal reporting and predictive modeling, among other services.
“Analyzing and learning from our data is critical to our business, and will continue to grow in importance,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Dave Kaiser. “Amanda’s actuarial background and data analysis experience has prepared her well to lead the team in meeting our company’s present and future analytics demands.”
Aponte has worked at SFM for nine years, serving in various actuarial capacities. She earned her B.S. degree in actuarial science from the University of Saint Thomas. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Insurers Association Actuarial Committee and Workers’ Compensation Reinsurance Association Actuarial Committee.
