Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new report from WCRI and the IAIABC that examines the distinctions among workers’ compensation laws in all U.S. states and certain Canadian provinces.
The report is geared toward helping provide understanding of macro-level differences and general tendencies across jurisdictions, such as how many states allow individual or group self-insurance, how maximum and minimum payments for temporary and permanent total disability benefits vary, coverage variations for mental stress, hearing loss, and cumulative trauma claims, and whether workers are allowed to choose the treating physician, or how many allow the employer to do so.
