Westminster, CO – Reed Group recently announced the launch of a new web-based recommendation tool called D.A.R.T. (Diagnosis and Related Treatments).
D.A.R.T. provides a streamlined process to aggregate diagnostic interventions and evidence-supported treatment recommendations for specific work related illnesses and injuries along with links to the evidence behind the recommendation status. These recommendations are taken from the American College of Occupational and Environment Medicine (ACOEM) Practice Guidelines, the gold standard in effective treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses. ACOEM Practice Guidelines and the D.A.R.T. tool are exclusive to MDGuidelines.
“D.A.R.T. provides easy access to ACOEM Practice Guidelines for the assessment and management of care for injured and ill workers and is focused on helping the clinician in an evidence-based approach to treatment,” stated Dr. Kurt Hegmann, Editor-in-Chief of the ACOEM Practice Guidelines. “No other guidelines product contains this vital information.”
ACOEM recommendations address key areas of occupational medical care and disability management in order to improve:
- the efficiency and accuracy with which the diagnostic process is conducted;
- the effectiveness of individual treatments and treatment plans in relieving symptoms and achieving functional improvement and return to work;
- the health of workers with occupationally related illnesses or injuries; and
- the quality of occupational medical care and disability management.
“The launch of D.A.R.T. continues to underscore the serious commitment MDGuidelines has in offering health care providers the most trusted sources for the assessment and management of injuries and illnesses,” said Joe Guerriero, SVP of MDGuidelines.
