Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau recently released a bulletin announcing that on September 8, 2015, a new, electronic system to submit applications for coverage through the New Jersey Workers Compensation Insurance Plan (“Plan”) will be unveiled at www.njcrib.com to replace the current application process.
The new platform, known as the Online Assigned Risk (“OAR”) system, streamlines the application and payment processes. Please note the following dates with regard to the conversion to the OAR platform:
- Paper applications for coverage through the Plan will be accepted only if postmarked no later than Saturday, September 5, 2015;
- If the application is submitted using the current electronic system, the completed application must be filed, and a fully executed Authorization for Release of Funds and Certification must be faxed to the Bureau, no later than midnight EST on Monday, September 7, 2015; and
- Effective with the open of business on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, all applications for coverage through the Plan must be submitted electronically through OAR. Paper applications and checks will no longer be accepted.
Agents, brokers and employers are urged to educate themselves about how to register and apply for coverage via OAR through webinars available on the Bureau’s website.
