Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s release of its first annual report examining the impact of The Workers’ Compensation Reform Act of 2013, which became effective on July 1, 2014.
Highlights from the report included the transition to an administrative court system and appointment of eight judges in June 2014 and four judges in June 2015 along with the appointment of three appeals board judges in August 2014. The Bureau’s Medical Advisory committee has also made multiple recommendations on advisory guidelines in various areas. Also noted in the report were the development and launch of an ombudsman program and education and training programs conducted across the state.
