Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Rhode Island DLT’s recent announcement that it has cut the administrative assessment rate charged to insurers providing workers’ comp coverage in the state. For fiscal year 2016, the rate has been reduced to 6.50% from 6.65% of total net workers’ comp premiums. The DLT noted that an improving economy and its efficient administration of the state system allowed it to pass on the savings to insurers for the second year in a row. Also in the news today is Techsource National’s announcement of its acqusition of IMEBASE, a web-based application designed to create, track and complete independent medical examinations, medical peer reviews and other medical evaluative services.
