Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Oregon DCBS’ recent release of its 2014 Report on the state’s Workers’ Compensation System. The report covers the effects of recent legislative changes, and updates the previous report released in September 2012, adding statutory changes adopted during the 2013 and 2014 legislative sessions, summaries of recent court decisions, and the latest available data.
Other sections of the report include a medical chapter that discusses research studies on the role of various care providers in the workers’ comp system and covers new fee schedules, and an RTW chapter that highlights the states various return-to-work programs and their effectiveness. Finally, the Insurance chapter notes that the state has one of the nation’s least expensive workers’ comp systems, citing data from its biennial ranking report.
