Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features GENEX’s announcement of the launch of its comprehensive set of guidelines for the use of transportation services for workers’ comp injuries. The guidelines are designed to provide research-based assistance about when, where, and what modes and vendors are best suited for injured workers.
GENEX noted that since transportation decisions can directly affect the recovery of injured workers, they are a critical component of treatment plans, and are also important from a cost management standpoint as expenses can escalate quickly. GENEX also pointed out that while in traumatic cases decisions are more straightforward, there are often cases where needs are much less clear where the guidelines can have the greatest impact on decision making.
