Deridder, LA – AMERISAFE, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMSF) a specialty provider of hazardous workers’ compensation insurance recently announced that G. Janelle Frost, the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed to Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective April 1, 2015.
Ms. Frost joined AMERISAFE in 1992 and has served in positions of increasing responsibility including Controller, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and President. Mr. Bradley will remain Chairman of the Board and become Executive Chairman. In that role, he will continue to be actively involved in the management of the Company.
Jared Morris, the Company’s lead independent director and Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee commented: “One of the essential responsibilities of any board of directors is to plan for leadership changes. C. Allen Bradley, AMERISAFE’s Chairman of the Board, commented: “I have worked closely with Janelle for more than a decade when she played a key role in our IPO. She possesses the competence, leadership, work ethic and vision to successfully lead the Company.” Mr. Bradley further commented: “I have told the Board that I have an interest in retiring. I remain committed to the success of AMERISAFE and have agreed to serve as Executive Chairman through September 2016. In this new role, my primary responsibility will be to offer assistance, advice and support to Janelle in her role as Chief Executive Officer.”
