Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new study from Employers that found that small businesses, which employ over half of the country’s workers, have been much slower to embrace trends in workplace design aimed at improving employee wellness.
According to the poll, more than 77% of small businesses do not provide “non-traditional” seating options like standing desks, balance balls, or treadmill desks to employees. 29% of the surveyed employers said that employees typically remain seated for stretches longer than an hour, and 42% also did not provide monitor stands to improve ergonomics for employees who primarily work on computers.
