Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features industry group ARAWC’s recent announcement that State Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville), and State Representative Jeremy Durham (R-Franklin) of Tennessee have recently introduced a bill to create the “Tennessee Option” as an alternative to state-mandated workers’ comp insurance.
ARAWC (The Association for Responsible Alternatives to Workers’ Compensation) is a national organization that was formed in 2013 that advocates before state legislatures for allowing an Option to workers’ compensation insurance. According to ARAWC, key components of the Tennessee Option include employee accountability, medical management, employee-employer engagement, and free-market competition.
