Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new WCRI report that identified new predictors of worker outcomes, which may help stakeholders improve treatment of and communication with injured workers. Tennessee is examined in this edition, and as with other states, trust in the workplace was found to be an important predictor that hadn’t been examined before, with 45% of injured workers interviewed expressing some level of concern that they would be fired or laid off after their injury. Tying in a bit with the communication angle from above is the TDI-DWC’s recent announcement of its new educational outreach program, Workers’ Compensation Fundamentals, which is geared toward educating injured employees about the basics of workers’ comp so they can successfully navigate their claims.
