OK Attorney General Charges Man for Workers’ Comp Fraud

December 10, 2014 - WorkCompWire

Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt has filed a workers’ compensation fraud charge against James Dorman Jackson. Jackson allegedly submitted multiple timesheets receiving payment for hours he did not work.

Jackson was allegedly injured while working for Vanity, a Lawton retailer. While injured, Jackson agreed to participate in a temporary transition employment program offered through Liberty Mutual Insurance.

The insurance company arranged for Jackson to work weekends for the Fort Sill Military Museum. Even though Jackson only worked at the museum twice, he submitted 16 weekly time sheets. The timesheets included a forged signature of the museum supervisor.

Jackson faces one count of Workers’ Compensation Fraud. He faces up to 7 years in prison and a fine of $10,000.

The Workers’ Compensation, Social Security and Insurance Fraud Unit investigates and prosecutes fraud on the part of claimants, doctors, attorneys and insurance companies. The unit also provides education and training about workers’ compensation fraud. To report workers’ compensation, social security or insurance fraud contact the Attorney General’s Office at (405) 521-3921 or visit the AG’s website at www.ok.gov/oag.
