Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the TDI-DWC’s recent announcement of the release of its annual report card on the performance of Workers’ Compensation Health Care Networks in the state. The report card provides comparisons of network and non-network claims performance on several different factors, including health care costs, utilization of care, satisfaction with care, access to care, return-to-work outcomes, and health outcomes.
According to TDI, networks it has certified have continued to show improvement on several measures, including medical costs, RTW, and health outcomes, and generally produced better lost time, RTW, and health outcomes than non-network claims. Non network claims were found to have lower average medical costs, but only by 0.7%, compared to 31% in 2010.
