Memphis, TN – Helios recently announced that Southwest Airlines is renewing and extending its current partnership with the company. Helios will be the airline’s exclusive provider of workers’ compensation pharmacy, ancillary, and settlement services for the company’s 45,000 employees for the next five years.
“Our employees are the heart of our business,” stated Patti Colwell, Workers’ Compensation Program Manager for Southwest Airlines. “It’s important to us to work with a company who shares this philosophy. We have found Helios to be a service-minded, accountable, and reliable partner. The insight, tools, and resources they share have been instrumental in our ability to control cost and utilization of pharmacy benefits and ancillary services, while ensuring that our injured workers are receiving better care at every stage of the claim.”
Over the past several years, Southwest has utilized Helios exclusively for workers’ compensation pharmacy benefit management and as part of a panel of providers for ancillary services. Under this new contract, Helios is the exclusive provider for pharmacy benefit management, ancillary, and settlement solutions.
“Our close partnership with Southwest Airlines and shared commitment to doing what’s right fosters collaboration and stimulates creative thinking to continuously evolve our program for maximum effectiveness,” said Tommy Young, Co-CEO of Helios. “We are proud to be one of their key strategic cost-containment partners.”
“Southwest and Helios share a common commitment to excellence,” stated Eileen Auen, Executive Chairman for Helios. “We value their partnership and the trust they place in us to care for their most important asset—their employees.”
