Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features an interesting business development with the recent announcement from Broadspire that it will add short-term disability, long-term disability, Family Medical and State Leave management to its existing portfolio of products.
Broadspire pointed to several factors that are driving demand from employers for outsourced disability management programs, like its new IDAM (Integrated Disability and Absence Management Services), including expectations that an aging workforce will increase absences, leaves and short and long-term disability, increased regulatory, administrative activities, and costs due to the ACA, and the challenges for employers involved in remaining compliant with changes.
