New York, NY – Willis North America recently announced that Patricia Ennis, Senior Risk Control Consultant for the Willis Risk Control & Claims Advocacy Practice, was installed as President of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Ms. Ennis, a 25-year veteran of the occupational safety and health profession, will serve a one-year term.
The ASSE is the country’s oldest professional safety organization with more than 36,000 occupational safety, health and environmental professional members worldwide. The ASSE promotes the expertise, leadership and commitment of its members, while providing professional development support, advocacy and standards development.
In her role as President, Ms. Ennis will focus on delivering ASSE’s members with tools and resources to enhance business productivity through cutting edge safety programs, and she will work to elevate the safety, health and environmental profession within the business community. Ms. Ennis will continue to serve as a Senior Risk Control Consultant within the Willis Risk Control and Claims Advocacy Practice.
Commenting on the role, Ms. Ennis said, “The ASSE is a dynamic organization leading the way in occupational health and safety and I am honored to have been elected as the 100th president. Based in Denver, CO, Ms. Ennis previously served as senior vice president and vice president of professional development for ASSE. She was chair of the 2008 Future Safety Leaders Conference for ASSE and has held a variety of leadership roles with ASSE’s Colorado Chapter. In 2011, she was recognized among the top “100 Women Making a Difference in the field of Occupational, Safety, Health and Environment.”
