Austin, TX – The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) will host the Texas Workers’ Compensation Compliance Conference in 2014. The conference will be held in Austin and repeated in Houston and will inform employers, insurance carriers, health care providers and designated doctors about common non-compliance issues and provide education to assist them in fulfilling their role within the Texas workers’ compensation system.
The DWC also hosts the Texas Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference to educate workers’ compensation system participants on the laws passed by the Texas Legislature and rules adopted by the agency. The compliance conference and the educational conference will be held biennially, in alternating years. The next educational conference will be held in the fall of 2015.
The Austin compliance conference will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel, 9721 Arboretum Blvd. The Houston conference will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the Doubletree Houston Greenway Plaza Hotel, 6 East Greenway Plaza. Registration is $275 per person before August 15, 2014 and $300 per person on or after August 15, 2014. The registration fee includes conference materials and special functions, including one continental breakfast and one luncheon. Business casual attire is appropriate for all functions.
The conference will feature a general session and 12 breakout sessions, as well as exhibitors offering workers’ compensation-related products and services. Conference participants may be eligible for continuing education credits.
