Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Ohio BWC’s recent announcement of another decrease in private employers’ workers’ comp base-rates, with a 6.3% reduction that will take effect July 1. BWC noted that the recently approved reduction will bring combined collections over the last four years down by $409 million, as private employers received a 4% rate decrease in 2011, no change in 2012, and a reduction of 2.1% last year. Also in the news today is Washington State L&I’s announcement that injured workers in the state can now choose from more than 20,000 health care providers in its medical network. The network went live in 2013 and has more than doubled in size since it began.
