Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new report from the New Hampshire Department of Insurance that found that medical costs in the state have grown to almost 75% of total workers’ comp dollars (versus about 60% countrywide). The department examined costs in four different categories, including surgical, radiology, physical and occupational therapies, and doctors’ visits, and found that New Hampshire’s costs exceeded those of surrounding states and the nation by significant margins across all four categories.
