Cranston, RI & Chicago, IL – An updated Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Medical Fee Schedule has been released and will go into effect on May 1, 2014, for services on or after that date.
The Medical Fee Schedule contains rules and maximum reimbursement rates, by procedure, for workers’ compensation medical services in the State of Rhode Island. These guidelines and rates cover a number of services, including: Anesthesia, Pharmacy, Surgical, and Physical/Occupational Medicine.
This Medical Fee Schedule update applies to all service types with the exception of hospital rates and guidelines. The 2013 Rhode Island Hospital Fee Schedule therefore remains in effect until further notice.
You can access or order a copy of the new Medical Fee Schedule from Rising Medical Solutions, the organization that works with the State to write and publish its workers’ compensation fee schedules.
The Division of Workers’ Compensation monitors the workers’ compensation system, ensuring that appropriate documents are filed to protect injured workers and employers, that claims are paid correctly, that all required employers have insurance coverage, and that insurance carriers report policy information to the Division. The Division also compiles information about injuries and costs, provides educational services, and investigates fraud.
