CT Woman Charged with Workers’ Compensation Fraud, Perjury

April 23, 2014 - WorkCompWire

Rocky Hill, CT – Jade Beaulieu, age 38, of 66 Wheeler Village Drive, Southington, was recently arrested and charged with Workers’ Compensation Fraud and Perjury.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Beaulieu reported suffering a work-related injury in March 2009 while employed by Walmart in Wallingford. She subsequently collected more than $9,327 in Workers’ Compensation benefits from February to August 2010.

The warrant states that while collecting benefits Beaulieu was observed via video surveillance performing tasks which she was restricted from doing because of the reported injury. Beaulieu falsely testified at a deposition when asked if she had ever exceeded those restrictions, according to the warrant.

The charges are merely allegations and she is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Workers Compensation Fraud and Perjury are both felonies. The charges carry a maximum possible sentence of 25 years of incarceration if convicted of both counts.

Beaulieu was released on a written promise to appear in Meriden Superior Court, G.A. No. 7, on April 28, 2014.

The case is being prosecuted by the Worker’s Compensation Fraud Control Bureau in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney.
