York Acquires Ohio-based CareWorks Family of Companies

February 9, 2014 - WorkCompWire

Parsippany, NJ – York Risk Services Group (York), a national provider of claims management, managed care and risk management services, recently announced its acquisition of the Ohio-based CareWorks Family of Companies.

The CareWorks family operates Ohio’s largest workers’ compensation managed care organization (MCO) as CareWorks and the state’s largest third party administrator (TPA) as CareWorks Consultants, Inc. York currently offers managed care and TPA services to the Ohio market through its Dublin, Ohio based subsidiary Frank Gates.

“Frank Gates and CareWorks were once strong business partners, so this transaction brings these two great companies back together, reinforcing their combined ability to deliver outstanding service to Ohio employers,” said York President Rick Taketa.

“Both companies share a culture and commitment to deliver exceptional customer service and superior results. This acquisition improves the breadth, depth and quality of the services we offer our clients,” Taketa added. “Our organization is truly excited to be investing further in the Ohio business environment, and its wonderful people and work ethic.”

“We are very pleased to be joining York Risk Services Group,” said William Pfeiffer, Chairman and CEO of the CareWorks Family of Companies. “This is a great opportunity for our associates and customers, as we enhance our product and service offerings and create new growth opportunities.”
