Utica National Insurance Group Selects Cypress Care as Workers’ Compensation PBM

January 8, 2014 - WorkCompWire

Atlanta, GA -(PRWeb)- Healthcare Solutions, the parent company of Cypress Care, Procura Management, ScripNet and Modern Medical, recently announced its wholly owned subsidiary, Cypress Care, has been selected by Utica National Insurance Group, one of the top 100 insurance organizations in the nation, to provide workers’ compensation pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services.

“Healthcare Solutions is pleased to have the opportunity to provide Utica National Insurance Group and its customers with best-in-class pharmacy management services,” said David A. George, CEO of Healthcare Solutions. “The company is committed to delivering superior solutions and service through market-leading utilization management strategies that produce maximum savings results for customers and positive outcomes for claimants.”

Through integration with GENEX Services, Inc. (GENEX), a leading provider of case management services to the workers’ compensation, disability and auto markets, Cypress Care will provide Utica National Insurance Group a customized suite of clinically-based pharmacy services to help ensure claimants receive appropriate medications as part of their workers’ compensation care path. A unique component of this partnership is the ability to provide a concurrent medical review program to influence prescriber behavior and stop potentially inappropriate dispensing of narcotics to claimants at the point of sale. “GENEX’s unique drug management system takes full opportunity of the critical information our pharmacy partner provides to optimize case management strategies,” said Dr. Maury Guzick of GENEX Services, Inc.

“In collaboration with our trusted managed care partner, GENEX, we selected Cypress Care as our PBM partner based on their proven success in delivering innovative pharmacy management services,” said Brian J. Begley, AVP and Director of Workers’ Compensation claims with Utica National Insurance Group. “Cypress Care’s pharmacy services integrate with GENEX’s utilization review program to leverage best practices in providing high quality and cost-effective care for claimants.”
