SUNZ Insurance Co. & Command Investigations Announce Fraud Arrest

January 6, 2014 - WorkCompWire

Orlando, FL – Anselmo Sanchez was arrested in Hardee County, Florida after an SIU and Anti-Fraud investigation conducted by SUNZ’s SIU Department, Command Investigations, LLC.

Sanchez was arrested on November 26, 2013 and charged with violating F.S. 440.105(4)(B)2 – Workers’ Compensation Fraud and F.S. 817.568(2) – Fraudulent Use of Personal Identification Information.

After completing an initial SIU & Anti-Fraud Investigation, Command Investigations determined that there was sufficient evidence on this case to support a referral to the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF). DIF Detectives completed their investigation and Sanchez was arrested on November 26, 2013. Bail was set at $2,000 for Sanchez.

Glen Distefano, Chief Operations Officer with SUNZ Insurance stated, “This is the fifth arrest for SUNZ Insurance in the last six months and we are pleased with the results of our SIU Department. SUNZ, CorVel Corporation (NASDAQ: CRVL) and Command Investigations along with the Detectives from DIF have successfully worked together in the continued fight against fraud.”

“Our SIU & Anti-Fraud Department and our Special Investigators are thrilled with the success of the SIU programming that has been provided to SUNZ Insurance Company and CorVel. We are proud to be partnered with these fine organizations,” stated Steve Cassell, President & CEO of Command Investigations.

All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
