Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the TDI-DWC’s recent release of the results of their 2013 Health Care Provider Performance Based Oversight (PBO) assessment. This year heath care providers were assessed on their performance in one of four categories, including timely filing of the Report of Medical Evaluation, completeness of Work Status Reports, documentation supporting why an injured worker couldn’t return to work, and MRI use.

Also in the news today is the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s announcement that injury and illness rates among Louisiana’s private industry in 2012 was better than the national average, with 74.3 incidents requiring days away from work per 10,000 full-time workers, compared to 102.3 cases nationally.
