CA DWC Announces Meetings in Oakland, Van Nuys to Discuss UR and IMR

San Francisco, CA – The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) invites interested members of the public to participate in discussions on utilization review (UR) and the independent medical review (IMR) processes. Meetings will be held in both Northern and Southern California at the following locations and times:

Southern California:
Date: January 13, 2014
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Place: Auditorium
Van Nuys State Office Building Elihu Harris State Office Building
6150 Van Nuys Blvd.
Van Nuys, CA 91401

Northern California:
Date: January 14, 2014
Time: 10 a.m.-noon
Place: Auditorium
Elihu Harris State Office Building
1515 Clay St., Room 1
Oakland, CA 94612

“We encourage all members of the workers’ compensation community to attend one of these meetings and share their ideas for improving the UR and IMR processes,” says Destie Overpeck, Acting Administrative Director for DWC.

DWC will facilitate discussion regarding ideas to reduce UR disputes, prevent increased costs for UR and IMR, and help ensure injured workers are receiving timely and appropriate medical treatment.
