Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new report from WCRI that found that average cost per claim for outpatient hospital care in the Florida workers’ comp system has continued to grow rapidly, driven by increases in the average payment per service, which increased an average of 10% per year from 2005 to 2010.
According to WCRI, the trend may be related to some features in the percent-of-charge-based fee regulation in the state, compared with the fixed amount fee schedules that are in effect in many of their other study states. Find out more by clicking here!
