Farmington, MI – Amerisure Mutual Insurance Co. recently announced the appointment of Gerardo (Gerry) Espinoza to Vice President of Internal Audit. In his new role, Espinoza has dual reporting relationships to Greg Crabb, Chief Administrative Officer with Amerisure and Amerisure Companies’ Board of Directors’ Audit Committee.
Espinoza is responsible for auditing all Financial, Operational, Regulatory, Fraud and Information Technology controls throughout Amerisure. Through this position, he will continue to safeguard the Company’s assets by bringing an independent, systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organization’s controls and governance processes.
He joins Amerisure with more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, internal auditing, financial compliance and various operational assignments. Most recently, Espinoza was Director of Internal Audit at Takata Corp. in Auburn Hills, Mich. Prior to that, he managed internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for Delphi, and held positions with Handleman Co., Kmart Corp, AT&T Inc. and Plante Moran.

Espinoza holds a B.S. in Administration from University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Master of Finance from Walsh College, Troy, Mich. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
