Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new video from Progressive Medical’s SignatureSeries that features Texas Workers’ Comp Commissioner Rod Bordelon and Senator Leticia Van de Putte, and covers the state’s Pharmacy Closed Formulary, which has already shown early signs of positive impact.
Commissioner Bordelon noted that compared to prescribing patterns before September of 2011, Texas has seen a 56% reduction in the prescribingb of non-recommended drugs on the closed formulary, and a cost reduction of over 81%. Senator Van de Putte offered a broader view of the role of policymakers in workers’ comp, and highlighted the need for stakeholders to point out issues to policymakers.
