OK AG Pruitt Names Longtime Prosecutor George Burnett as Workers’ Comp Unit Chief

October 15, 2013 - WorkCompWire

Oklahoma City, OK – Attorney General Scott Pruitt recently named longtime prosecutor George Burnett as the new chief of the AG’s Workers’ Compensation, Insurance, and Social Security Fraud Unit.

“George’s experience and leadership will benefit our office greatly,” Pruitt said. “He is knowledgeable and committed to serving the State of Oklahoma. I know George will do a great job in his new role.”

Burnett served as an assistant attorney general in the AG’s Multicounty Grand Jury Unit for two years, prosecuting a wide range of crimes, including murder, sex crimes, violent crimes, drug-related crimes, property and white collar crimes.

Prior to joining the AG’s Office, Burnett served 26 years as an assistant district attorney in Oklahoma, McClain, Garvin and Blaine counties, including eight years as a team leader under former Oklahoma County district attorneys Bob Macy and Wes Lane.

Burnett, a native of McAlester, earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1981 and a Juris Doctor at the Oklahoma City University College of Law in 1987.

Burnett and his wife, Kim, live in Pauls Valley and have three children.
