CA CHSWC Releases “Potential Impact of AB 1373” Report for Feedback

Oakland, CA – The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) has released on its website for public comment and feedback the report, “Potential Impact of AB 1373.”

CHSWC contracted with Bickmore Risk Services to analyze the potential impact of Assembly Bill 1373, which proposed to increase the statute of limitations from 240 weeks to 480 weeks for public safety officer workers’ compensation death benefits associated with cancer claims. Bickmore’s findings include an estimated added minimum of $4,500,000 to statewide workers’ compensation death benefits annually. CHSWC invites public comment and feedback by email at the address below through November 22, 2013.
