Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) on questionable claims in the workers’ comp vertical. Questionable Claims are those referred to the NICB by member companies for closer review and investigation based on one or more indicators of possible fraud.
The latest analysis covers questionable claims submitted from January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013, and found that while the total number of workers’ comp claims has been decreasing, the percentage that is deemed “questionable” has actually been rising.
