Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new update to NCCI’s regular studies on prescription drug costs in Workers’ Comp. Key findings from this edition included continued increases in Narcotic use, which now account for 25% of drug costs, with over 45% of those narcotic costs for drugs containing Oxycodone HCL.
Also of note is that the share of costs for physician-dispensed drugs continues to increase, mostly driven by repackaged drugs, which now account for over 2/3 of overall physician-dispensed drug costs.
