Philadelphia Insurance Companies Names New Senior VP of Field Underwriting

Bala Cynwyd, PA -(PRWeb)- Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), a leading property and casualty insurance company for niche markets, announces the hiring of Kurt D. Hines as Senior Vice President of Field Underwriting.

Mr. Hines will be responsible for growing and managing PHLY’s Field Underwriting operations, which incorporate the company’s 46 offices across the country. Mr. Hines joins PHLY with more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry.

“Kurt is passionate about leading cultural change to improve the sales mindset and to provide customer solutions,” said John Glomb, Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer of PHLY. “He will guide our team of underwriters by capitalizing on the presence we have in major markets across the country and spearhead new initiatives to meet customers’ demands in PHLY’s niche market areas.”

Before joining PHLY, Mr. Hines served as Head of Sales and Performance Management for Zurich North America. In this position, he was responsible for sales management and for directing sales practices of Zurich’s market-facing teams in the broker and independent agent channel.

Mr. Hines has been an author, contributor, and speaker on various risk management issues. An actuary by training, he is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS). He has a B.S. from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
