Oklahoma City, OK – Governor Mary Fallin recently selected Troy Wilson, Sr. as her first appointee and chairman of the Oklahoma Worker’s Compensation Commission. Wilson worked from 1967 to 1980 for Xerox Corporation, working out of offices in New York, Texas and Oklahoma City. He served as the Oklahoma branch manager for Xerox from 1972 to 1980, managing over 300 employees. From 1980 to 1985, he was the president and owner of Business Unlimited Inc, a business brokerage organization with offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
Wilson is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and a member of Leadership OKC’s Inaugural class in 1981. He was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
In 1985, Wilson left Oklahoma to become the CEO of Montgomery Bank, a community banking institution with over $900 million in assets. In 2006, he retired as CEO and became Chairman of the Board of Montgomery Bancorporation, Inc.
Wilson was appointed by former Missouri Governor John Ashcroft to serve on the White House Conference on Small Business. He also served as chairman of the Missouri Bankers Association, president of the United Methodist Men’s Organization, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
“Troy Wilson is a successful business owner and entrepreneur,” said Fallin. “He knows that good businesses treat their workers – especially injured workers – fairly. He’s also seen firsthand how skyrocketing worker’s compensation costs can cut into a company’s bottom line and stifle growth. These lessons will help to make Troy a balanced and experienced voice on the new Oklahoma Worker’s Compensation Commission.”
