NY WCB Announces BPR Stakeholder Outreach Events

September 29, 2013 - WorkCompWire

Schenectady, NY – The Workers’ Compensation Board (Board) has teamed with Deloitte to begin a business process re-engineering (BPR) project designed to significantly improve the experience of injured workers and employers in the New York workers’ compensation system (Subject No. 046-608). Your ideas, thoughts, and comments are critically important to the success of the BPR project. To initiate the conversation, the Board will be conducting multiple in-person discussion forums to give you the opportunity to tell the Board what works well and what does not in our system today. The Board encourages you to attend one of these open-forum style sessions. Webinars will also be conducted to provide additional information on the BPR project.

In-Person Sessions
In-person sessions have been scheduled in several Board district offices to discuss how the Board can collectively improve the workers’ compensation system. Sessions will be held for various system stakeholders, including representatives of labor, employers, attorneys/claimant representatives, medical providers, carriers/TPA, and business associations. These sessions will begin at the end of September. Please refer to the BPR Events In-Person Session Schedule on the BPR section of the Board’s website for the specific dates, times, and locations.

Webinars
The Board will also be conducting several webinars to share information regarding the BPR project. The webinars will include additional context and background information regarding the project and what the project entails. Please refer to the BPR Events Webinar Schedule on the BPR section of the Board’s website for specific dates and times of the webinars.

If you’re interested in attending either an in-person session or a webinar, please RSVP to bpr@wcb.ny.gov. Please include the webinar/in-person session date and time in your RSVP. Please visit the BPR section of the Board’s website for additional project information including a recorded project introduction, and list of upcoming events.
