MedRisk Names McClure Vice President of Expert Clinical Benchmarks

September 8, 2013 - WorkCompWire

King of Prussia, PA – MedRisk recently announced that Phil McClure, PhD, PT, FAPTA, will serve as vice president of Expert Clinical Benchmarks (ECB), the company’s research and academic subsidiary. MedRisk is a managed care company specializing in the physical rehabilitation of injured workers.

McClure will direct all the clinical aspects of MedRisk’s programs from peer reviews and the development and maintenance of evidence-based treatment guidelines to monitoring outcomes and patient satisfaction.

“Phil is an outstanding clinician and researcher who embraces our commitment to evidence-based physical medicine and has helped MedRisk continually advance the level of our care protocol,” said MedRisk CEO Shelley Boyce. She noted McClure’s long history with MedRisk as a member of ECB’s International Scientific Advisory Board, an elite group of world-renowned physical medicine experts who manage ground-breaking research efforts, conduct symposia and review and analyze physical medicine treatment trends.

“His expertise in work-related shoulder injuries was instrumental in developing our treatment guidelines,” Boyce added.

McClure has received numerous awards for his research in shoulder biomechanics and the effect of exercise on patients with shoulder impingement. McClure, who holds a doctorate from Drexel University in Philadelphia, is a professor at Arcadia University in Pennsylvania and the director of its Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

He replaces Roger Nelson, PT, PhD, FAPTA, who recently retired.
