Franklin, TN – Coventry Workers’ Comp Services recently announced that it has expanded its Outcomes-based Network (OBN) from 9 states to 21 to increase the opportunity for clients to access a more selective and focused workers’ compensation managed care option. Coventry began offering its Outcomes-based Network in 2009 in Florida, and since then has continued the network’s expansion into additional states. With this release, Coventry now offers its Outcomes-based Network in the following states: Florida, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
“Coventry’s Outcomes-based Network program identifies providers who have been shown to contribute to quality patient outcomes and controlled claims costs,” said Bruce Singleton, vice president, network strategy at Coventry. “This Coventry network product differs from others because providers are required to meet Coventry OBN proprietary methodology standards. Through rigorous statistical and qualitative analyses our standards identify providers who will assess many factors that impact outcomes.”
Coventry’s OBN incorporates benchmarks from the Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) as it relates to physical medicine treatments by injury type, and focuses on total claim outcomes. In addition, Coventry includes orthopedic surgeons who play an important role in the outcome of many workers’ compensation cases in all 21 states.
