CA DWC Posts Instructions on the Interpreter Certification Process

September 18, 2013 - WorkCompWire

San Francisco, CA – The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has posted helpful instructions on how to quickly move through the credentialing and certification process in the Interpreter services FAQs on the DWC website. The instructions provide interpreters with information on the necessary steps to get started with certification for medical treatment appointments or medical legal exams through either the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) or the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (National Board).

The instructions cover how to:

  • Register and submit an application online
  • Pay the exam and application fees
  • Take the written and oral exam

DWC encourages non-certified medical treatment appointment interpreters to start the registration process as soon as possible to ensure their ability to comply with the new regulations and receive prompt payment for their services.

Interpreter services FAQs and information on recently approved interpreter services regulations are posted on DWC’s website.
