Orlando, FL – Orchid Medical, a national leader in ancillary healthcare services for workers’ compensation, has appointed Frederick W. Hartker, M.D. of NeuroSkeletal Imaging Institute of Orlando (NSI), as medical director for Orchid Medical’s diagnostic imaging services.
Hartker, NSI’s lead neuroradiologist, has vast experience in neuroradiology, body, orthopedic, and vascular interpretations, and is skilled in diagnostic radiology utilizing modalities such as MRI, MRA, CT, CTA, ultrasound, and x-ray.
Diagnostic imaging is among a breadth of services Orchid Medical provides payers of workers’ compensation claims, including insurance carriers, self-insured employers and Third Party Administrators.
Because of the complexity of work-related injuries and the varying degrees of imaging technology in use by imaging facilities, it takes a highly trained radiologist to analyze imagery relative to the injury and diagnosis, and provide guidance to the payer, said Brian Carwile, CEO of Orchid Medical.
“Dr. Hartker plays an integral role in Orchid Medical’s system of checks and balances, which allows us to provide payers the best support possible to cost effectively manage medical treatment for injured workers,” said Carwile.
Hartker, whose work has been published in the American Journal of Neuroradiology (AJNR) and the Journal of Neuroimaging, is an active reading neuroradiologist for National Rad. He routinely interprets and performs diagnostic procedures for professional and high level collegiate athletes nationwide.
A senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), and member of the Radiologist Society of North America (RSNA), Hartker received his medical degree from Michigan State University, and served as attending neuroradiologist in the Department of Radiology – Division of Neuroradiology at the University of Chicago.
