Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Oregon Department of Consumer & Business Services (DCBS)’s announcement that it has taken preliminary steps to decertify the Oregon Employers Trust, Inc., the state’s largest private group of employers that self-insure for workers’ compensation.
According to DCBS, as part of an annual evaluation, they required the trust to increase its security deposit from $3.2 million to $3.95 million, and so far, the group has failed to provide the increased amount. Unless it can do so, the department will revoke the group’s certificate to operate effective August 8, and employer members will immediately need to find other workers’ comp insurance.
